INTRODUCTION - Building the Nigerian home made car.

In attempt to make brand new  automobile available to all Nigerians at a reasonable price, the federal Government of Nigeria have formulated policies and also are working with some major institution in Nigeria in pursuing the dream of the development of the Nigerian. Therefore, in line with this objective, this research work is aimed at accelerating the effort of the Government by designing and constructing an affordable made in Nigeria car.

This research seeks to source and use local material in constructing the body of the car , its suspension system etc. However, existing car components such as its axle , shaft, hubs etc are to be modified and adopted for use. However, factors of great consideration in the design of the car were safety, reliability and cost.

The prototype 1, with modified existing car parts is to demonstrate that the design is workable. In Prototype 2 car, effort shall geared towards to locally produce all component parts that were adopted in the construction of prototype 1.

The pictures  below shows the chronicles of the development of the Nigerian car.

The lower arm or lower wishbone of the A-frame suspension system can be seen already attached to the main chassis beam. Other notable component part in the picture include the front Hub, rear suspension wishbone with hub carrier attached to it.
